Yep, you read that right. In the heart of the city, a high tea salon is serving up some fresh and innovative flavours like nothing you've ever seen before. They've fused Italian classics with Japanese inspiration.
"Wait waaait?!" We hear you ask.
Don't worry, we're here to break it down. 😎
At Cafe Blush, they've bent all the foodie rules and as a result, created some truly spectacular dishes.
Take their Mentaiko Pasta for instance. This ain't your average spaghetti. Though it may seem unassuming, it features mentaiko (Japanese pollack roe), onsen egg and nori. A must for seafood lovers – they promise that it's a perfect balance between savoury and spicy. It'll transport you to Fukuoka, a city in Japan's south where this dish is a speciality.
There are five other pastas to choose from – truffle, clam miso, hamburg, seafood squid ink, and chicken & mushroom.
But wait, there's more. We just can't get past their other mains. Sandwiches and wagyu sliders – with a Japanese spin, are yours to try. Others rave about their signature salad and their assortment of entrees. We can't go past the curly fries with yuzu mayo because duh, fries.
And if you've come for high tea, you're arrived at the right place. Delectable desserts await you on pristine Cristina Re teaware and Le Creuset servingware. (You can ooh and ahh at those names.)
Their set selection has a thoughtfully curated mix of sweet and savoury bites. Your choice of coffee (provided by Seven Seeds) or tea is included. Or grab some champers if you're feeling fancy. We'd cheers to that.
And there's more – yep, I'm still going. If you want someone smaller, take a peek at their mini platter. It may be small in size but it doesn't hold back on flavour. Or feel free to be picky with their assortment of pastries, cakes, parfaits, scones and other desserts available.
Last but not least... any self-professed food blogger will appreciate this light-filled and lush interior. With hanging plants and large mirrored panels, it oozes of sophistication. And right to its namesake, the walls have been painted blush pink. What a dream. 🤩
